Confronting the root causes of climate change means building a mass social movement. Education is key for making this a reality, so we are constantly giving workshops and trainings which aim not only to educate, but to empower others to take action on the root causes of climate change in their homes, schools, communities, campuses and beyond. We are constantly learning and training in order to provide interactive, dynamic workshops on a wide range of topics relating to Climate and Environmental Justice. Giving these workshops is one of all of our favorite things, especially to new groups, so they all run on a donation basis.

Workshops we offer:

Climate Justice 101 (1 to 3 hours)

An introduction to climate change through a climate justice analysis. This workshop is suitable for almost any age, covering everything from the science of climate change, to climate debt and false solutions. In this workshop we make links between climate change and other social justice issues, trying to highlight the root causes, and begin to get participants thinking about and acting on local, community based  solutions.

Tar Sands 101 (1 to 2 hours)

Introductions to the environmental and social impacts of the worlds largest and most destructive industrial project. This workshop can be focused on specific aspects of the Tar Sands as well, we have in the past given a “Tar Sands and Water” workshop.

In the Pipes: The Trailbreaker and the Tar Sands in Montreal and beyond (1 to 2 hours)

This workshop focuses on the Trailbreaker pipeline project, slated to bring 200,000 barrels of tar sands oil through Montreal each and every day. The goal of the workshop is to both inform people about the Trailbreaker project, and empower them and their communities to take action to stop this project from becoming a reality.
